Roots SC for LLT/LFX Camaro

Post by Dion.Rentos » Fri Apr 26, 2013 9:08 pm

For the first one? That's a great deal!!! Or was it for one after?

I know he needed the first one for LFX. Already had the LLT booked.

That's cool you got that can't wait to see it.

I got a new hood on order for it. I like to try to keep a strut brace for the Vert.

I just want to see the intake setup. Hope it looks nice also

Yeah I got in as the first one. I'm super stoked for it to be finished, but I'm really nervous about not having my car for 2-3 weeks.

I just dropped it off about an hour ago. Tracey didn't tell me I can't say anything. But I should probably check to see.

That's mine. I can tell because I never put the windshield washer fluid hose in right.

Tracey said he would be doing some painting too to match my black/silver setup. It should look real nice.

So I'm curious as to what Tracey's workaround for the fitment issue will be. He said I'm gonna like it. Any ideas Dion?

I know it was touching the top fabric. So if its higher now its got to be a new hood or maybe a cutout with something else put in its place.

But cant wait to see it. Please once you get it you got to come on down and show it off to us

I have this hood on order. I hope it has the room for it :-)

Maybe. I'm just curious because Tracey didn't tell me what he was doing. I don't think it could be a cutout for that very reason. He would have to let me know if he was doing something irreversible.

Maybe a new hood, but that would take my stripes away.

It shouldn't be an issue. Its in Tracey's best interest to provide a good looking functional product. He also has to be able to market it.

I'm just getting anxious from the waiting.

So now that I can't keep my silver stripes I'm thinking about changing my theme. What do you think about Black & Red? Maybe some hood spears and hockey stripes.

Kinda like this but the opposite. http://www.bigwormgraphix.net/images/ca ... in-lrg.jpg

Not sure about what shade of red though.

No real news today. I talked to Tracey on Saturday so its gonna be exciting. He said that he can work with the CAI with no worries. He should be getting some parts in soon and he'll be fabricating some custom stuff shortly. :D

Just talked to Tracey. It looks like its still about a week out. They just received their new dyno so they can begin to get measurements. They gotta take the SC off to do some documentation, but Trifecta is ready to begin tuning. Its getting close(ish)

How much did the SC cost and whats the hp looking like? I'm only ask because i'v seen SC kits cost almost as much as an engine swap.

Its costing me $5k including install, tuning, dyno numbers, 1/4 mile times, pillar pod, and gauges. They also aren't going to charge extra for the new hood. I even got them to install my High Flow Cats for free since it doesn't make sense to put an A/F meter in when I'm just going to swap the pipe out anyways.

The shop estimates that I'll be putting 400hp/400tq to the ground when its all said and done. That's quite an improvement seeing as how my LFX only makes 323hp at the flywheel.

They had to tear it down for documentation purposes. Also, the new dyno was like 2 weeks late. We're aiming for this weekend.

Keep talking to them. I think it's going to be longer.

I keep hearing they don't have the intake stuff ready. Or the pulley system.

Hope it works out

Looks cool. you should get it soon!

Just a reminder the ZL1 hood does not line up with non ZL1 bumpers.
The cowl lines will not line up. But it can be fixed at a body shop. I had to get my ZL1 bumper fixed to match a normal hood. Not a big deal. But to me it was.

Judging from where the hood was cut. Fitment with your carbon hood is going to be close Dion.

They had it on the dyno yesterday and it lost boost.Turns out a gasket popped loose so they have to take the unit off. Tracey's been pretty sick lately, so he couldnt wotk on it today. I don't forsee iy being another week though.

So I got my car back today. It's pretty sick. Really torqy. I'm only running about 6psi of boost so the power is a little moderate. Tracy said I'm at about 360rwhp/420rwtq. He's gonna email me the dyno sheets after the weekend.

Wow, good job man, the car should be REALLY a blast to drive now, and the blower whine,,yes sir. I do miss the whine of the Eaton M112 I had on my V6 stang, was a really sick sound. Good luck and enjoy the new found power !!
