Chevrolet myLink software update including NAV
Does anyone know how to check or update the software on the Chevy myLink system? It looks very easy with a USB thumb drive. I found on Chevrolet's mobile site that it tells how to do it, but it doesn't give a link. I have included a screen shot of it. I've heard dealerships want to charge like $125 to update it. I called Bob Steele Chevy and they told me that I have the latest software in my car, but they wouldn't tell me what version it was and reference to the NAV software, I can goto gmnavdisc.com to see if any updates are available. Looks like they want $169+ to update the nav software via that site. But, it does show no updates are available at this time for my car. I can't believe GM charges for software updates when the car is in warranty.

Re: Chevrolet myLink software update including NAV
I was mainly looking for software updates for mylink itself. Maps change yearly and was wondering about updates for that too. I really like mylink interface.
The picture isn't an app, but a mobile site that I found when searching. If you click on the link from the computer, it won't find it and then it defaults back to chevrolets main site. But, click on it through an iPhone or cellphone and it should go right to it.

Re: Chevrolet myLink software update including NAV
This was just discussed on Camaro5 forum. What a bunch of guesses, wrong information, and "I heards". Very little facts.
I queried my NAV for an update at GM website and they said NO updates for 2014, period, maybe none for 13 either, can't recall. My google maps on my IPhone runs circles around the built in NAV anyway.
I will play around with the MyLink update issue. update: see next post

Rosalio [7:59:11 PM] : Hello and welcome to Chevrolet Infotainment
Customer Support! How may I help you today?
Craig [7:59:22 PM] : hi, please tell me, specifically, how to update
MyLink software in my 2014 Camaro
Rosalio [8:01:16 PM] : You would need to take it into the dealership to get
it updated. We had them online so customers could update at their own
convenience. But many people were corrupting their software so we have
it all done by the dealer now.
Craig [8:01:41 PM] : is it supposed to be free? at the dealer
Rosalio [8:01:46 PM] : Yes.
Craig [8:02:12 PM] : thank you, I will post this so other owners can
see it in the Camaro forums

Thanks. I appreciate it. Yea, I have to say for the price of the nav upgrade , the iPhone wins by a mile.
