Holiday?? Party & Meet ??

Post your RSVP on the event @
scc/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1160

Was thinking about Christmas coming up. Our normal meet date falls on Christmas eve.

Tammy send me a MSG about this and I thought it was a good idea.

Instead of meeting then do we want to meet someplace like carrabba's or Longhorns on Friday or Sat before? Or do something special at November meet and just skip December because everyone will be too busy?

Thoughts? Comments?

Cheddars is a good suggestion too. They have an area with a large table set that holds about 12, not sure if they can add another table in this area. may have to do main dining area. Would also have to ask if they will take reservations as right now I think its first come, first serve. Would need a poll to see how many are going so we can figure out when, where and how many.

The other clubs do a more catered event. and sell tickets before hand.

We are looking into this.

We could always do a Christmas Pot Luck if we had somewhere to have it as well. Basically my thought would be if we agree on this, we put what to bring in a hat ( main course, dessert, Appetizer ) So that way you dont wind up with 50 trays of cookies and nothing else. Just my thoughts, I can help plan if you need me as well. =)

If I am in town, I'll be down for it. I typically take leave the week of Xmas to visit family back home.

I was just suggesting a potluck sort of thing because that way no one has to spend a lot of money and we can all still get together and do a little something. Holidays are tight money wise for a lot of people...

Gonna be tough for me since I just started working and from October 31st to December 30th are black out days, we can't ask for the days off, I will try to however or ask about working a certain shift so we can attend. What about Saturday December 7th? The other dates are a bit close to the holidays, I know a lot of people have a lot going on the week before Christmas and same with Thanksgiving. Just my 2 cents of course. Maybe start it at like 5 or 6?

I think the 7th is a good date for us too. Do we have a game plan for a menu? We have a turkey fryer if we want to do deep fried turkey. Or do we want to do something simpler like burgers and dogs?

OK Dec 7 is OK for a SCC event.

I will cancel the Nov 26 meet and greet.

No issues having it at my place again.

Whats a good time to start? 5 or 6?

Open to Family's, I also have a pool for anyone wanting to go in. Maybe the kids?
We have a Game room with Pool table, Bar and poker table we can use if needed.

I don't mine Cooking on the BBQ. So we can have hamburgers and hotdogs, chicken.

Do you want to make this all a potluck? So should i take $50 out of the SCC funds for some of the main food?

I say 6 is good, gives people who are working a chance to come home and change and what not, We will be there but probably more around 7 or so. I say pot luck is a good idea, people need to list what they are bringing so we do not have 100 of the same things. and I don't see any issues using club money for some main food, it is a club party after all.
